What to do? Be sure you used “coded” email addys and contact forms.

You want to help others, so you post their email addy? NO, post a LINK to their site.  If their site doesn’t have contact info, not your problem. Sometimes I’m astounded small biz sites and no contact info. Huh?

I never use free version of WordPress. This info is for those who don’t know how to code, using self-hosted WordPress. (I assume same info whether using free or self-hosted version).

When you post info, note little icons, to make things bold, color text, and a CHAIN. The chain is how you add links.

Type write me, click and select “write me,” click chain icon, then paste this:

mailto:name@whatev.com?subject=whatever you want to show up in the Subject Line of email going to YOU.

NOW when someone sees write me at that spot, it’s underlined or bold or however your links are set to appear. When someone clicks on the link, it opens their email, and puts “whatever you want to show up in the Subject Line of email going to YOU” into the subject header.

PLUS set up a free contact page. Some new WordPress themes include that page. Otherwise use any number of free Contact Forms for WordPress.

Remember: be careful posting email addresses and phone numbers online. Unless you want phone calls, even spammers. Yes, it’s against the law, you can sign up for the Do Not Call Registry, but good luck stopping them …

If you are in network marketing, multi-level marketing, or have ANY kind of business …. be prepared to deal with this.

I called, clearly addressed her issues. I also emailed a very detailed WordPress response. This “marketing specialist” responded:

“Thanks for your message, it will be reviewed and responded to accordingly. To stay on top of the latest events, job opportunities, business tips and other resources, I invite you to join my professional networking group on …”

I ASK YOU: when you post a tech or any question, and someone takes time to leave a detailed phone call, and very organized, detailed email, how do you respond? Do you send out an auto email, promoting your business and groups (NOTHING personal nor relevant to the topic, although call/email was tailored to your needs).

Also, your INTERN, who knows NOTHING about the topic, calls to pick the brain of the person responding.

Are these viable ways to build a business? Relationships? Esp when you are supposed to be a pro in networking, branding, etc?

I say this lovingly. Pls treat people who respond to YOUR requests with the RESPECT they deserve. Auto email response? Intern? Really? Perhaps I have inspired some to think about this … Please share YOUR thoughts! Thank you and here’s to YOUR SUCCESS!
