EMAIL is so important, and people constantly LOSE BUSINESS and FRIENDS because of thoughtless emails. Periodically I will share EMAIL TIPS. I’ve researched and compiled TONS of links. Here’s an example of what NOT to do:
“Do any of my FB friends know how to use WordPress to create a static website or as a CMS tool?”
I called, clearly addressed her issues. I also emailed a very detailed WordPress response. This “marketing specialist” responded:
“Thanks for your message, it will be reviewed and responded to accordingly. To stay on top of the latest events, job opportunities, business tips and other resources, I invite you to join my professional networking group on …”
I ASK YOU: when you post a tech or any question, and someone takes time to leave a detailed phone call, and very organized, detailed email, how do you respond? Do you send out an auto email, promoting your business and groups (NOTHING personal nor relevant to the topic, although call/email was tailored to your needs).
Also, your INTERN, who knows NOTHING about the topic, calls to pick the brain of the person responding.
Are these viable ways to build a business? Relationships? Esp when you are supposed to be a pro in networking, branding, etc?
I say this lovingly. Pls treat people who respond to YOUR requests with the RESPECT they deserve. Auto email response? Intern? Really? Perhaps I have inspired some to think about this … Please share YOUR thoughts! Thank you and here’s to YOUR SUCCESS!
